Fans of the highly anticipated Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will have to wait a bit longer, as the game's release has been pushed back to October 2025. This latest delay, though smaller compared to previous shifts, was announced quietly in a recent game update video by publisher Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room. The new release date is a few months later than the previously planned launch in the first half of 2025, but it comes with reassurances that the core development is complete.
According to Executive Producer Marco Behrmann, "The status of the game right now is that the game is done. We are currently focusing on bug fixing, stability, and performance so that we can deliver the best experience to you guys once it releases." This focus on polish and refinement is a promising sign for fans eagerly awaiting the sequel to the 2004 cult-classic video game.
Despite the disappointment of yet another delay, the update video offers some positive news. The Chinese Room has added more content, enhanced narrative depth, and improved character development since the last major update. Additionally, the character Fabien will have an "evolved role" in the storyline upon release. However, fans should note that updates on the game's progress will be less frequent going forward, as mentioned in a post on the official Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 X/Twitter page.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has faced numerous challenges since its announcement in 2019. Originally developed by Hardsuit Labs with a planned launch in Q1 2020, the game saw its first delay to late 2020. Subsequent delays pushed the release to 2021, and in March 2021, Hardsuit faced layoffs. The development baton was then passed to The Chinese Room in 2023, aiming for a 2024 release, which has now been adjusted to October 2025.
With the game's history of delays, it remains uncertain if Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will finally meet its October 2025 release. However, The Chinese Room remains confident. Looking ahead, Paradox has hinted that, should Bloodlines 2 achieve a successful launch, a different developer might take on the challenge of creating Bloodlines 3.
