Hello everyone, and welcome to another exciting week! It's time for our weekly roundup of the most noteworthy updates from the past seven days. This week, Shaun has included more than one free-to-play matching puzzle game update, but don't worry—we've got plenty of exciting stuff to share. And, of course, you can enjoy watching Shaun take on King Robert, a highlight we all look forward to. Remember, you can stay updated by participating in the TouchArcade forums, but this summary is here to ensure you don't miss out on any of the latest developments. Let's dive in!
Peglin, Free
This week, I'm thrilled to award the coveted UMMSotW to the first game on our list, Peglin. Its 1.0 update brings a wealth of new content, including the ability to challenge up to level 20 in Cruciball, a new Slime Hive mini-boss, and a host of tweaks, bug fixes, balance adjustments, and other improvements. Even though Peglin was already a stellar game, these enhancements make it even better.
Brawl Stars, Free
Get ready for Brawl Stars time! The latest update introduces a SpongeBob-themed event, bringing a fresh twist to the game. Look forward to new Brawlers, Moe (Mythic) and Kenji (Legendary), along with new Hypercharges for various characters. These updates will roll out over the next few months, with the SpongeBob event starting soon.
stitch.,
The soothing and satisfying stitch gets even better with more Hoops to play, this time with a martial arts theme. The theme might not be the focus for puzzle game enthusiasts, but the new content certainly adds to the enjoyment. Update your app and dive into the new Hoops for a relaxing experience.
Genshin Impact, Free
With the Genshin Impact: Natlan Launch, a new region named Natlan comes to life, complete with three new characters: Mualani, Kinich, and Kachina, and new weapons. The update also includes new events, stories, and artifacts. While this update is larger than usual, it remains consistent with the quality and style of previous updates.
Temple Run: Puzzle Adventure,
This Apple Arcade exclusive brings a massive update with one hundred new levels to its matching puzzle gameplay. The tournaments have also been refreshed, providing plenty of content for players to enjoy. Whether this will keep players engaged until the next update remains to be seen, given the appetite of puzzle game fans for new content.
Jetpack Joyride 2,
In this special update, Barry Steakfries embarks on a journey to the one place untouched by capitalism – SPACE! This exciting addition to the Apple Arcade sequel to Halfbrick's iconic auto-runner game is sure to thrill fans. And a shoutout to Tim Curry, a true legend whose performances continue to inspire us.
Puyo Puyo Puzzle Pop,
Another beloved matching puzzle game gets an update with new character episodes for Sig, Carbuncle, and Rafisol in Adventure Mode. Meena joins as a playable character, and seven new music tracks from previous entries are available in the shop. Bug fixes round out this comprehensive update.
Hearthstone, Free
The Hearthstone update brings Battlegrounds Season 8, Trinkets & Travels, featuring the new Trinket Shop. Players can now buy Trinkets with Gold twice per game, adding a new layer of strategy and potential balance challenges. It's an exciting shift from the usual Buddy system.
Toon Blast, Free
The first of our obligatory free-to-play matching puzzle game updates is Toon Blast, featuring a new episode with fifty levels centered around bees and happiness. Despite a slight fear of bees, their role in the ecosystem is appreciated, and this update adds a fun twist to the game.
Royal Match, Free
The debate continues: should King Robert perish permanently or in a perpetual cycle? This update brings one hundred new levels and a new jousting arena, adding fresh challenges to the game. And let's not forget the amusing ad featuring King Robert in a chilly predicament.
That wraps up our summary of last week's significant updates. If you think we've missed something important, please share your thoughts in the comments below. As always, major updates will receive their own news stories throughout the week, and I'll be back next Monday to fill in any gaps. Have a fantastic week!
