The rumor mill for a Tony Hawk's Pro Skater remake is heating up once again, with Singapore's rating board adding more fuel to the fire. They've rated "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4" for a 2025 release, stirring excitement among fans eager for the next installment in the iconic series. This rumored collection, encompassing the third and fourth mainline games, is set to hit a wide array of platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, according to the ratings board.

While no official confirmation has been made public yet, a mysterious countdown timer found within Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 suggests that news related to Tony Hawk's Pro Skater is on the horizon. The timer is set to expire on March 4, 2025, adding to the anticipation. Furthermore, Tony Hawk himself has hinted at ongoing discussions with Activision. In a conversation with Mythical Kitchen, Hawk expressed optimism, saying, "It will be something the fans will truly appreciate."

The success of the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 remake in 2020 set a high bar, making a follow-up with 3 and 4 seem like a natural next step. However, after the release of the first remake, the developer Vicarious Visions was integrated into Blizzard to focus on other projects. This shift left Activision searching for a new studio to take on the challenge of remaking the next two games.

Tony Hawk shared in a 2022 Twitch livestream that the original plan was to tackle 3+4 right after 1+2, but the absorption of Vicarious Visions complicated matters. "The truth of it is that [Activision] were trying to find somebody to do 3 + 4 but they just didn’t really trust anyone the way they did Vicarious, so they took other pitches from other studios," Hawk explained. Despite these efforts, Activision was not satisfied with the proposals they received, leaving the project in limbo until now.

With the Singaporean ratings board listing only Activision as both the publisher and developer, the question of who is actually working on the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 remake remains unanswered. Fans won't have to wait long for more information, as the countdown ends on March 4, 2025, promising to shed light on this eagerly awaited project.
