Following the success of Helldivers 2, Arrowhead Studios has hinted at a new game

Arrowhead Studios, fresh off the overwhelmingly positive reception of last year's Helldivers 2, is currently developing a "high-concept" game. Creative director Johan Pilestedt took to social media to announce the project and solicit fan input.

Community suggestions ranged widely, including a Smash TV remake and various Star Fox-inspired concepts. Pilestedt confirmed prior internal consideration of a Smash TV remake and hinted at a Star Fox-esque project within the "rail game" genre.

While specifics remain undisclosed, Arrowhead's active community engagement is evident. The success of Helldivers 2, a standout title of 2024, sets a high benchmark for their next endeavor.

A recent update has significantly boosted Helldivers 2's player count on PS5. The "Omens of Tyranny" expansion, surprise-released at the 2024 Game Awards, has been well-received, introducing the long-awaited Illuminate enemy faction, a 4x4 Fast Recon Vehicle, and new urban warfare maps. With a rumored Killzone crossover also on the horizon, Helldivers 2 appears poised for continued success in 2025.
