Stardew Valley developer, ConcernedApe, recently announced on social media that a Nintendo Switch patch addressing the game-breaking divorce crash and raccoon shop bugs will be released soon. While these issues have been resolved on PC, mobile, and other consoles, the Switch update is still under development.
Since its 2016 release, Stardew Valley has seen numerous updates and improvements. Its charming pixel art, relaxing gameplay, and consistent updates from ConcernedApe have maintained its popularity. ConcernedApe regularly addresses community-reported bugs and adds new content. A persistent issue, now nearing a Switch release, was resolved in a December update.
ConcernedApe confirmed on Twitter that the Stardew Valley patch fixing the divorce crash and raccoon shop problems is "still coming," though a specific release date remains unannounced. The developer assures players it will be released as soon as possible. These issues, among others, emerged after the launch of update 1.6 and were quickly addressed on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. ConcernedApe initially announced the Switch patch was in development around Christmas, and now, almost three weeks later, its release seems imminent.
Stardew Valley's major update 1.6, released on PC in March, introduced substantial new content, including personalized NPC gift reactions, the Meadowlands Farm, and new festivals and events. Visual enhancements, such as waterfalls, holiday decorations, and seasonal map variations, were also included.
Despite resolving many issues, update 1.6 unintentionally created new problems after its November rollout to consoles and mobile. Game-breaking bugs prompted an emergency patch for the mobile version on November 15th, while fixes for other platforms continued.
The Stardew Valley community appreciates ConcernedApe's open communication and responsiveness. Although the Switch patch for the divorce crash and raccoon shop isn't yet available, the developer's active efforts assure players of its imminent arrival.
