Squid Game: Unleashed set to receive new characters and events to celebrate season two of the show

Squid Game: Unleashed is celebrating the release of season two with a wave of new content! Get ready for new characters, a fresh map, and exciting challenges. Plus, exclusive rewards await those who watch the new episodes!

Netflix's surprising holiday release of Squid Game: Unleashed – a battle royale game based on the hit Korean drama – was free to all, even non-subscribers. Now, they're cleverly incentivizing viewership with in-game rewards tied to watching season two!

What's in store for current players? Starting January 3rd, a new map inspired by the season two mini-game "Mingle" is added. Playable avatars Geum-Ja, Yong-Sik, and rapper Thanos (not the Marvel villain!) will also debut throughout January.

Geum-Ja and Thanos each have special in-game events on January 3rd and 9th respectively, to unlock them. Watching Squid Game season two unlocks in-game Cash and Wild Tokens; watching seven episodes unlocks the Binni Binge-Watcher outfit!

Here's the January content roadmap for Squid Game: Unleashed:

• January 3rd: Mingle map and Geum-Ja character launch. The Dalgona Mash Up Collection Event (until January 9th) involves completing Mingle mini-games and collecting Dalgona tins.
• January 9th: Thanos arrives with his recruitment event, "Thanos’ Red Light Challenge." Eliminate players using knives to unlock him (event runs until January 14th).
• January 16th: Yong-Sik joins the game as the final new character in this update.
