Sony is gearing up for another exciting PlayStation State of Play broadcast, set to take place during Valentine's Day week, from February 10 to 14. This information comes from the reliable leaker NateTheHate, who has a track record of accurately predicting announcements like the Nintendo Switch 2 reveal.

As anticipation builds, speculation is rife about what Sony might showcase. Let's dive into the possibilities, focusing on the first-party titles slated for release in 2025. Sucker Punch's eagerly awaited Ghost of Yotei could be a highlight, potentially offering fans a fresh glimpse of gameplay and a specific release date.

Bungie's PvP extraction shooter, Marathon, is another contender for a spotlight, especially if it's gearing up for playtesting this year. Haven Studios' debut, Fairgames, also piques interest. Naughty Dog's new IP, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, and Insomniac's Marvel's Wolverine are on the radar, but perhaps the most anticipated could be a new trailer for Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, set for a 2025 release.

However, don't expect to see any of the recently canceled live service games from Sony. Last month, Sony pulled the plug on two unannounced projects from Bend Studio and Bluepoint Games, with the latter rumored to be a live-service God of War game. While Bend Studio's project remains under wraps, Guerrilla Games' live service Horizon game survived the cuts and might be ready for a reveal.

Moving on to third-party announcements, Kojima's Physint, a stealth-action PlayStation exclusive, might be too early for a showcase. On the other hand, Phantom Blade Zero, a striking hack-and-slash action RPG from S-Game, seems more likely.

Microsoft, now a notable publisher on PlayStation, could use the State of Play to announce details like a release date for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on PS5. There's even speculation about Microsoft potentially revealing Halo coming to PlayStation.

Looking back at last year's State of Play can give us a glimpse of what to expect. The event showcased titles like Death Stranding 2, Physint, Rise of the Ronin, the Until Dawn remaster, Stellar Blade, Dragon's Dogma 2, Sonic x Shadow Generations, various Silent Hill projects, Ken Levine’s Judas, Foamstars, and Helldivers 2. This year's lineup promises to be just as thrilling.
