A reverse image search revealed the image originated from a Bon Appetit article featuring a Brooklyn Blackout Cake recipe, published on April 2nd, 2024.

Pellen also commented on the article with "mmmm tasty," prompting a flurry of fan comments connecting the cake to Silksong. One fan even vowed to bake the cake if Silksong news arrived by April 2nd, 2025, while another playfully linked the cake's "silky texture" to the game.
