Finnish game developer Supercell has surprised fans with a twist on their cancelled RPG, Clash Heroes. Instead of abandoning the project entirely, they're rebooting it as Project R.I.S.E., a multiplayer action RPG roguelite.
Supercell confirmed the cancellation of Clash Heroes, echoing the fate of Clash Mini. However, Project R.I.S.E. emerges from the ashes, retaining the Clash universe but with a significant overhaul. Game lead Julien Le Cadre confirmed the news in an announcement video, highlighting the shift to a multiplayer focus.

Project R.I.S.E. shares a spiritual connection with Clash Heroes but is a completely new game. It’s a social action RPG roguelite where players team up in groups of three to conquer The Tower. Each playthrough explores a different floor, with the aim of reaching the highest level possible. Unlike the original, the emphasis is firmly on cooperative gameplay and diverse character interactions, rather than solo PvE.
Currently in pre-alpha, Supercell plans the first playtest for early July 2024. Interested players can register on the official website for a chance to participate.
