Project U: Ubisoft’s Mysterious Co-op Shooter Gets Leaked Intro Video

Ubisoft's journey with the unannounced game, Project U, has been marred by a series of unfortunate leaks. The initial gameplay leaks surfaced in 2022, shortly after the closed beta testing phase began, and these leaks have reappeared in 2024, indicating that the project is still in development. Recently, an introductory cinematic from what seems to be a rebooted version of the game was leaked online.

The cinematic's origin and authenticity remain unconfirmed, but it was shared by gaming blogger Shaun Weber, known for his history of leaking gaming content. Weber suggested that more videos from Project U could be leaked if the game continues its development cycle for an extended period.

Project U is anticipated to be a session-based cooperative shooter, taking inspiration from the success of Helldivers 2. The leaked footage hints at a storyline centered around an alien machine invasion of Earth, with players stepping into the shoes of chosen individuals tasked with thwarting this extraterrestrial threat.

As of now, Ubisoft has not officially announced Project U or provided any details on its release timeline.
