People Can Fly, the acclaimed developer behind Bulletstorm and a co-developer of the highly anticipated Gears of War: E-Day, has recently inked a new deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment. This partnership is set to bring forth a new game, currently codenamed Project Delta. As detailed in a recent report from People Can Fly, Project Delta is designated as a work-for-hire project, although specifics about the game remain under wraps.

This move adds to People Can Fly's bustling portfolio, which includes several other high-profile projects. Among these are Project Gemini, developed in collaboration with Square Enix, which unfortunately saw the layoff of 30 developers last year, and Project Echo, a joint effort with Krafton. Additionally, the studio is working on Project Red, which is also believed to be in partnership with Sony, and the VR project, Project Bison. Just yesterday, People Can Fly announced that Project Bison would be their last venture into virtual reality.

The studio has faced its share of challenges recently, with the suspension of work on Project Victoria last December and the scaling down of another in-development game, Project Bifrost. Earlier in April, People Can Fly also announced the cancellation of Project Dagger, an action-adventure title that was being developed in partnership with Take-Two Interactive.

Despite these setbacks, People Can Fly remains active with a total of eight known projects in development. This includes the eagerly awaited Gears of War: E-Day, developed in collaboration with The Coalition, though a release date for this title has yet to be announced. Meanwhile, Project Gemini, the game developed with Square Enix, is slated for a 2026 release.
