Pedro Pascal, renowned for his roles in series like The Last of Us, The Mandalorian, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps, has publicly criticized JK Rowling for her stance against the transgender community. This response came after Rowling celebrated a UK Supreme Court decision that defines "woman" legally as "a biological woman and biological sex," thereby excluding transgender women from protections under the Equality Act.
The controversy intensified when Rowling posted a celebratory image on Twitter/X, showing herself smoking a cigar and enjoying a drink by the ocean, with the caption, "I love it when a plan comes together." This was in reference to her financial support for For Scotland Women, the group behind the lawsuit.

Writer and activist Tariq Raouf posted a video on April 17 denouncing Rowling's actions, describing them as "serious Voldemort villain sht" and calling for a boycott of Harry Potter and related products. In response to this video, Pascal commented, "Awful disgusting SHT is exactly right. Heinous LOSER behavior."
Pascal's advocacy for transgender rights is well-documented. He has previously shared sentiments like, “I can’t think of anything more vile and small and pathetic than terrorizing the smallest, most vulnerable community of people who want nothing from you, except the right to exist,” accompanied by an image of a sign stating, "A world without trans people has never existed and never will." Additionally, he wore a shirt emblazoned with "Protect the dolls" at the London premiere of Thunderbolts, a phrase used within the LGBTQIA+ community to refer to trans women.
His support is deeply personal as well; his sister, Lux Pascal, came out as a trans woman in 2021. Pedro Pascal celebrated her announcement with the heartfelt message, "Mi hermana, mi corazón, nuestra Lux," translating to "My sister, my heart, our Lux."
