The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered PC players encountered issues following today's unexpected update, though Bethesda assures a solution is coming.
The surprise patch arrived without warning or patch notes, leaving players puzzled. While some continued playing unaffected, others immediately noticed serious technical problems stemming from the update.
Yoooo why would @virtuosgames push an update to Oblivion Remastered that removes all upscaling right before the games first weekend?!!?

"Can't modify upscaling options anymore," reported one Reddit user. "The setting is locked on 'off' despite the UI suggesting it's adjustable. After restarting with Nvidia settings tweaked, I'm getting unstable 40-60 fps on high settings with premium hardware. Fantastic update."
While performance seems unchanged for some, numerous players report new frame rate issues and complete loss of upscaling functionality just before Oblivion Remastered's debut weekend.
Bethesda addressed concerns via their support page, clarifying the update contained "minor backend adjustments unrelated to gameplay." The issues appear predominantly affecting Microsoft Store versions, where graphical settings become unchangeable despite remaining active.
"Pre-existing graphic configurations still function," Bethesda stated, "though adjustments are temporarily unavailable due to UI problems. Our team is investigating a solution."
Console players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S remain unaffected. Currently there's no ETA for fixing what was intended as a minor background update.
