According to Deadline, T.S. Nowlin (known for Maze Runner and Netflix's Project Adam) will write the screenplay. While Derek Kolstad's involvement remains uncertain, he was previously attached to the project. Adding further weight to the production, Chad Stahelski (director of the John Wick franchise) and his company, 87Eleven Entertainment, will serve as executive producers. Stahelski is also involved in adapting Ghost of Tsushima.
Sifu, released in 2022, quickly gained popularity, selling over a million copies in its first three weeks. The game centers on a young martial artist's quest for revenge after their master's murder. Using a mystical pendant that allows resurrection at the cost of accelerated aging, the protagonist navigates a perilous world of secrets and danger.
