Indie studio We Are Muesli has unveiled their latest project, a narrative-driven game titled In Their Shoes, slated for release in 2026 on both mobile and PC platforms. This intriguing game has already garnered attention, earning a nomination for the 'A MAZE. 2025' awards in Berlin, celebrating independent and arthouse games.
Set in the vibrant and contradictory city of Milan, In Their Shoes offers players a unique opportunity to step into the lives of seven distinct characters. The game presents 49 short, interactive stories, each dubbed a "Moment," offering intimate glimpses into the daily experiences of these characters.
These Moments range from slow, contemplative sequences where you immerse yourself in a character's thoughts, to fast-paced scenarios that demand quick reactions, simulating real-life pressures and decisions. Unlike traditional narrative games, In Their Shoes doesn't follow a neat storyline. Instead, it challenges players to piece together fragmented stories to uncover 26 hidden biographical details for each character, embracing a true slice-of-life approach.
While the game's Play Store page is yet to be launched, you can explore more about In Their Shoes on its Steam page. For a sneak peek, check out the announcement trailer below:
