In the world of *Phasmophobia*, tackling the most notorious ghosts sometimes requires using special Cursed Possessions, which come with their own risks and rewards. One such item, the Haunted Mirror, is particularly useful, but if you're hesitant to use it, here's how it works and why it might be worth the risk.

How to Use the Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia

The Haunted Mirror is considered one of the safest Cursed Objects in *Phasmophobia*, offering significant rewards with minimal risk. Its functionality has remained consistent across numerous game updates, making it a highly recommended tool during your ghost hunting expeditions.

When you use the Haunted Mirror, it provides a panoramic view of the ghost’s current favorite room or area on the map. If you're well-versed with the map's layout, this feature can significantly speed up your ghost detection process, allowing you to set up your equipment before the situation escalates.

You can typically find the Haunted Mirror hanging on a wall, such as in 6 Tanglewood Drive, or lying on the floor in its predetermined location. While Cursed Objects always spawn in the same spot on a map, the chance of encountering a specific one is randomized.

To use the Haunted Mirror, simply pick it up and use the appropriate button (either mouse or controller) to interact with it and hold it up. The mirror's reflection will show you the ghost's current favorite room. Keep in mind, if you're playing on Professional difficulty or higher, the ghost can move to different areas after a certain time.

However, be cautious not to gaze into the Haunted Mirror for too long, as it drains your sanity. Prolonged use can cause the mirror to shatter, triggering a Cursed Hunt at your current location. Therefore, it's best to use it when your sanity is high and quickly understand the reflection to avoid unnecessary risks.

What are Cursed Objects (Possessions) in Phasmophobia?

Cursed Possessions, often referred to simply as "Cursed Objects," are unique items in *Phasmophobia* that appear randomly across various maps, influenced by difficulty settings or if you're engaging in Challenge Mode.

Unlike standard equipment, which helps you locate ghosts and gather evidence with minimal risk, Cursed Objects serve as shortcuts or cheats to manipulate the ghost's behavior. However, using them comes with a much higher risk to your character's safety.

The safety of using these objects varies depending on their specific abilities. It's up to you and your team to decide whether to utilize them, as there's no penalty for choosing not to. Typically, only one Cursed Possession will spawn per contract, unless you adjust the settings in Custom mode.

There are seven different Cursed Objects available in the game:

  • Summoning Circle
  • Haunted Mirror
  • Voodoo Doll
  • Music Box
  • Tarot Cards
  • Ouija Board
  • Monkey Paw

This guide concludes how to effectively use the Haunted Mirror in *Phasmophobia*. For more insights and updates on *Phasmophobia*, including the 2025 Roadmap & Preview, be sure to visit The Escapist.
