When it comes to iconic female characters in fighting games, three names instantly come to mind: Nina Williams, Chun-Li, and Mai Shiranui. While fans have seen Nina and Chun-Li clash in Street Fighter x Tekken, their interaction won't be featured in upcoming releases. However, the spotlight now shifts to Mai Shiranui, who is set to join the roster as a new guest character in Street Fighter 6. It's no coincidence that the developers have chosen to showcase Mai against the legendary Chun-Li in her gameplay trailer.
Mai's signature moves are prominently featured, and her super move is nothing short of spectacular. It's clear that Mai is poised to become a fan-favorite in Street Fighter 6. Unfortunately, eager fans will have to wait a bit longer, as Capcom has scheduled Mai's release for February 5, rather than January. This means we're looking at a three-week wait before we can dive into the action with Mai.
In the meantime, let's hope the Street Fighter 6 team keeps us engaged with additional content to keep the excitement alive until Mai's arrival.
