Hades II's Warsong Update: Ares Arrives, New Boss Emerges
The highly anticipated Warsong Update has dropped for Hades II, introducing the formidable god of war, Ares, and a wealth of new content. This substantial update propels players further into the game's captivating roguelike experience.
The Warsong Update takes players beyond the Guardian of Olympus, challenging Melinoë in a "Final Confrontation." The update's centerpiece is the arrival of Ares, the bloodthirsty god of war, adding his unique Boons to the already diverse gameplay.
Beyond Ares, players will encounter a new animal companion, formidable new enemies, a visually enhanced Altar of Ashes with fresh Arcana effects, over 2,000 new voice lines, and exciting new events. Between dungeon runs, players can unwind in the Crossroads, enjoy new musical tracks, or even share a song with Artemis.
While the Warsong Update is fresh, Supergiant Games has already begun planning the third major update, promising a reveal "in a few months," as stated in their Steam announcement. Hades II remains in Early Access, and while a release date for version 1.0 remains unannounced, the developers assure players that the core structure of both the Underworld and Surface routes is complete, with the focus now shifting to enriching the existing content.
Following the Warsong Update's post-launch patches, Supergiant Games will prioritize these areas:
Supergiant Games expressed gratitude to their players, emphasizing their role in shaping Hades II's development towards becoming their "biggest, most replayable game yet."
The Hades II Warsong Update is available now as a free download on Steam for existing owners.
