Sony's latest State of Play event has unveiled an exciting array of upcoming games for the PS5, providing gamers with a glimpse into the future of PlayStation gaming. The showcase was packed with thrilling announcements, new trailers, and release dates for highly anticipated titles. From the next installment in the Returnal series, Saros, to the long-awaited Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, the event left fans buzzing with anticipation.

One of the highlights was the reveal of Saros, Housemarque's follow-up to the critically acclaimed Returnal. Set to launch on PS5 in 2026, Saros takes players to the mysterious planet of Carcosa, where an ominous eclipse looms. Players will step into the shoes of Arjun Devraj, portrayed by Rahul Kohli, navigating a world where every death reshapes the environment and unlocks new upgrades.

Konami confirmed the release date for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, set for August 28, 2025. Accompanied by a new gameplay trailer, the game promises an immersive experience with an exciting Ape Escape collaboration and potential future crossovers.

Gearbox announced that Borderlands 4 will hit the shelves on September 23, 2025, and shared a new gameplay trailer to celebrate. Fans can look forward to a Borderlands 4-themed State of Play later this spring.

Capcom showcased a new trailer for Onimusha: Way of the Sword, revealing the game's protagonist, the legendary swordsman Miyamoto Musashi. Set to release in 2026, the game promises new gameplay and an engaging narrative.

A surprise reveal was Tides of Annihilation, a single-player action-adventure game set in a modern London overtaken by otherworldly forces. Players will control Gwendolyn and can summon the Knights of the Round Table to fight against skyscraper-sized bosses.

Days Gone Remastered is making a return to the PS5 on April 25, 2025, with enhanced features including VRR, PS5 Pro support, permadeath and speedrun modes, an improved photo mode, and a new Horde Assault mode. PS4 owners can upgrade for just $10.

The State of Play also introduced February 2025's PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, featuring titles like Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, TopSpin 2K25, and Lost Records: Bloom & Rage - Tape 1, along with upcoming indie games such as Blue Prince and Abiotic Factor.

Leslie Benzies' MindsEye, developed by the former lead GTA series developer, showcased gameplay and cinematic trailers, setting a Summer 2025 release window. The game follows Jacob Diaz, a former soldier grappling with a neural implant and fragmented memories, set in the AI-influenced city of Redrock.

Dynasty Warriors fans can dive into the new roguelite spin-off, Warriors: Abyss, available today on PS5 and PS4. The game offers over 100 unique characters and 16 billion combinations of gameplay.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds revealed more gameplay, showcasing how portals will transport racers across different worlds. The game is set to launch on multiple platforms, including PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

Stellar Blade will feature a crossover with Goddess of Victory: Nikke, introducing themed content in June 2025, alongside a PC port release window.

Lies of P: Overture, a prequel DLC expansion, will delve into the hidden stories of Krat this summer, exploring the events leading up to the great Puppet Frenzy.

WWE 2K25 introduced The Island, a social multiplayer wrestling hub where players can explore, engage in challenges, and develop storylines with their custom wrestlers.

Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, developed by Sega and Lizardcube, will launch on August 29, 2025, for PS5 and PS4. The game follows Joe Musashi on a quest for vengeance, with unlockable abilities adding to the game's replayability.

Metal Eden, an adrenaline-pumping sci-fi FPS, is set to release on PS5 on May 6, 2025, featuring a unique mechanic called Core Ripping, allowing players to manipulate enemy cores for strategic advantages.

Lost Soul Aside, a one-person dream project by Yang Bing, revealed a new gameplay and story trailer, confirming a release date of May 30, 2025, on PS5 and PC.

Monster Hunter Wilds will receive a free title update in spring, adding Mizutsune and other exciting content.

Split Fiction received a new story trailer ahead of its March 6, 2025, release, promising an engaging narrative.

Supermassive Games' Directive 8020, a sci-fi horror game, is set to release on October 2, 2025, where players will face perilous choices aboard the Cassiopeia, dealing with a hull breach, murder, and an alien organism.

The next PixelJunk game, Dreams of Another, will be released on PS5 and PS VR2 in 2025, inviting players to explore a dreamscape where creation and destruction intertwine.
