Nintendo is excited to announce the opening of its second official store in the United States, located in San Francisco's Union Square at 331 Powell Street. The grand opening took place today, May 15. This new addition follows the successful model of the New York location, which originally opened as the Nintendo World Store and underwent renovations and rebranding to become Nintendo NY in 2016.

IGN had the opportunity to visit the San Francisco store and explore what Nintendo has in store for fans. Additionally, we had the privilege of sitting down with Nintendo of America's President, Doug Bowser, to discuss the strategic decision behind opening their first West Coast store at this time.
