After months of anticipation, Epic Games has officially launched its store on mobile devices. Now, gamers worldwide can access the Epic Games Store on their Android devices, and to celebrate this milestone, Epic is offering a plethora of exciting rewards, free games, and more.
Epic Games is shining the spotlight on three major titles available on the mobile version of their store: Fortnite, Fall Guys, and Rocket League Sideswipe. Notably, Fall Guys is now free to download and play on mobile devices directly from the Epic Games Store.
By downloading the Epic Games Store app and any of these featured games, players can participate in exclusive in-game challenges to unlock new cosmetics. These include a unique Fortnite outfit with matching back bling, pickaxe, and wrap, as well as a fresh Fall Guys bean costume. Additionally, players can earn a Fall Guys-themed pickaxe for Fortnite and a gold vehicle trim usable in both Fortnite and Rocket League Sideswipe. Keep in mind, these quests are exclusive to mobile players.
The Epic Games Store on mobile isn't just limited to their flagship titles. Nearly 20 third-party games from various developers are now available on the platform. Epic has also initiated a Free Games program for mobile users. Currently, Dungeon of the Endless: Apogee is free to download on both Android and iOS through the Epic Games Store app until February 20th.
Playdigious, a notable developer, has also made two other games available on the Epic Store: Shapez and Evoland 2. They plan to add Cultist Simulator to their mobile offerings in the coming weeks. Additionally, Bloons TD 6 is slated to join the store soon. While the free game offerings are currently monthly, Epic aims to transition to a weekly schedule later this year.
Despite the challenges posed by Apple and Google regarding the installation of third-party app stores, Epic Games is pushing forward, making gaming more accessible to a wider audience. What are your thoughts on this development? Feel free to leave a comment below.
