"Discover Sam's Location in KCD2: Kingdom Come Deliverance 2"

If you're aiming for the best ending in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, completing certain tasks is essential, and saving Sam is one of them. Knowing exactly where to find Sam and how to rescue him can make all the difference in your quest for perfection.

Rescuing Sam During “Reckoning”

As you approach the climax of the main quest line, you'll discover that Sam is being held captive at Praguer’s Camp, captured by Brabant. Your opportunity to save him arises during the main quest "Reckoning." You can't simply stroll into the camp and set him free. Instead, you'll need to choose between stealthy infiltration or a more aggressive approach.

To move freely within the camp without raising suspicion, you'll need a guard’s outfit. You have a couple of options here: either take down a guard and steal their outfit, making sure to hide the body, or search the numerous chests scattered around the camp for one. Once you have the outfit, equip it to explore the camp safely and search for Sam.

Sam is located in the barn on the left side of the camp, beyond the open area with the cooking fire. Access the barn by using the ladder on its side and dropping down inside, where you'll confront Brabant. Here, you face a critical decision: you can either kill or spare Brabant. Opting to spare him contributes to achieving the best ending, but the choice is yours.

When to Rescue Sam

After freeing Sam, it's not yet time to escape with him. He'll inform you about von Aulitz, who is also in the camp. It's advisable to deal with von Aulitz first, then secure a horse, before returning to Sam to get him out of the camp. He can wait safely while you handle these tasks, making it easier to manage your escape.

Von Aulitz is located in the main part of the camp. Wearing the guard outfit will allow you to enter his quarters without issue. Upon finding him, you'll see he's already dying. He requests a dignified death, which you can grant as the most honorable option. Alternatively, you can choose to kill him brutally or leave him to suffer, though leaving him to die actually contributes to the best ending.

Your final steps involve retrieving Sam from the barn where you left him. If a guard questions your actions, simply explain that you're moving the body to avoid suspicion. Head towards the camp gates, turn right, and follow the perimeter until you reach the stables.
