James Gunn and Peter Safran have confirmed that The Brave and the Bold will introduce a new Batman to the DC Universe (DCU), definitively excluding Robert Pattinson.
During a DC Studios presentation, Safran and Gunn clarified that Pattinson's Batman remains exclusive to Matt Reeves' "The Batman Epic Crime Saga." Gunn stated unequivocally, "It's certainly not the plan. No." Safran elaborated, emphasizing the necessity of introducing a new Batman into the DCU, making it a key objective for The Brave and the Bold.
Earlier speculation regarding Pattinson's potential crossover into the broader DCU stemmed from Reeves' earlier ambiguous comments. However, Reeves himself has since focused on his own planned "Epic Crime Saga," stating his commitment to that storyline. Safran expressed enthusiasm for Reeves' vision for The Batman Part 2, highlighting the encouraging aspects of the script thus far.

A brief, silhouetted appearance of Batman in Creature Commandos Episode 6 subtly confirms his pre-existing presence and established reputation within the DCU, thus avoiding the need for an origin story. Gunn's comments to Rotten Tomatoes TV clarify this stylistic choice. Furthermore, Gunn hinted at a future team-up between the DCU Batman and Superman. He expressed his long-standing admiration for Batman, highlighting his importance and promising exciting future collaborations with Superman.
