Exciting news for JRPG and tactical stealth enthusiasts: the highly anticipated game *Guns Undarkness* is set to launch a free demo during the upcoming Steam Next Fest. Spearheaded by the renowned composer of the Persona series and Metaphor: ReFantazio, Shoji Meguro, this project promises to blend thrilling gameplay with a stellar creative team. Alongside Meguro, the game features the artistic talents of Ghost in the Shell character artist Ilya Kuvshino and the musical contributions of rapper Lotus Juice, famous for his work on Persona 3.

Shoji Meguro, who has been a key figure at Atlus since 1995, has contributed to iconic titles such as the Shin Megami Tensei and Persona series. In 2021, he embarked on a new journey as an indie game developer while continuing to collaborate with Atlus. His latest venture, *Guns Undarkness*, is a Sci-Fi Stealth Action JRPG developed under Kodansha Game Creators Lab. The game was initially unveiled at Indie Live Expo Winter 2021 and successfully met its Kickstarter goals in 2022.

Mark your calendars for February 24, 2025, when the *Guns Undarkness* demo will be available for players to experience at Steam Next Fest. The full game is slated for early access later this year.

Inspired by Metal Gear Solid and Persona

According to its Steam page, *Guns Undarkness* is described as a "turn-based tactical JRPG inspired by games like Metal Gear Solid and Persona." Set in the year 2045, the game thrusts players into a world teetering on the edge of destruction. You take on the role of a member of a private military company, embarking on missions with allies to uncover the world's secrets and save humanity.

The gameplay is split into two main aspects: stealth and battle. In stealth mode, players can navigate the environment to remain undetected, which provides a strategic advantage when engaging enemies in battle. The combat system is turn-based, allowing players to issue commands and utilize various firearms to outmaneuver and defeat foes.

The demo for *Guns Undarkness* will offer approximately 20 minutes of gameplay, including a tutorial that covers basic controls, the battle system, weapons, and strategies for the game's early stages. The full game is scheduled for release in Spring 2025 for Early Access, promising around 10 hours of playtime on PC. While no specific release date has been announced yet, anticipation is building for this unique blend of tactical stealth and JRPG elements.
