Clue Mobile Now Features 2016 Suspects

Marmalade Game Studio has just released the 2016 Suspects Pack for the digital version of Clue, also known as Cluedo, much to the delight of fans of this classic murder-mystery game. This new pack introduces the beloved characters from the 2016 version, allowing you to immerse yourself in the game with your nostalgic favorites.

Who Are the 2016 Clue aka Cluedo Suspects?

The pack features the iconic characters: Miss Scarlet, Colonel Mustard, Reverend Green, Professor Plum, Dr. Orchid, and Mrs. Peacock. With this update, you're not limited to any specific crime scene or case files. This means you can mix and match these suspects into any scenario you desire, giving you the freedom to create your own unique mysteries. Additionally, you can blend these classic characters with the newer 2023 cast for even more variety.

The fanbase for the 2016 version has been quite vocal about their desire to see these characters return, especially with the introduction of the more modern 2023 characters. It's great to see Marmalade Game Studio responding to this feedback by bringing back these beloved suspects.

There’s More Coming to the Game!

In addition to the 2016 Suspects Pack, Clue aka Cluedo is introducing a new Retro Rules Set game mode, which is available for free. This mode harks back to the original 1949 rules, offering a nostalgic twist on gameplay. In the Retro Rules Set, you'll experience old-school mechanics, such as tokens starting at designated spots on the board, with Miss Scarlet always making the first move—unless she's absent, in which case Colonel Mustard takes her place.

The gameplay also changes in other ways: you can only make accusations while in a room, Clue Cards are removed entirely, and you cannot move through squares occupied by other players. These changes bring a fresh (or rather, vintage) challenge to the game.
