Marvel Rivals: Season 1 Unveils Blade Artwork and Hints at Future Content
Marvel Rivals' Midnight Features event has treated players to the first official artwork of Blade, fueling speculation about his potential arrival as a playable character in Season 2. Season 1 itself offers a wealth of new content, including fresh maps, a new game mode, and a rewarding battle pass.
The Midnight Features quests, accessible via the Season menu, are divided into five chapters, each with three quests. Completing these quests rewards players with Chrono Tokens, Units, and a free Thor skin. All five chapters will be unlocked by January 17th. Chapter 3's reward is a Gallery Card depicting Blade facing Dracula, Season 1's antagonist. This artwork marks the first official confirmation of Blade's existence within the game, although his presence in game files had previously been rumored. Season 1's narrative positions Dracula as having removed Blade and Doctor Strange from the battlefield.
Blade's appearance in the artwork strongly suggests a playable role in Season 2. Fan theories anticipate The Fantastic Four defeating Dracula to rescue New York City, Blade, and Doctor Strange, concluding Season 1. Many believe Blade would excel as a Duelist, possibly with a transformation ability similar to Magik and Hulk's ultimates, enhancing strength, modifying attacks, and granting wall-hack vision.
Meanwhile, leaks from Season 0 revealed Ultron's complete ability set, hinting at a Strategist role offering support and healing. While initially predicted for Season 1, Ultron's debut seems delayed due to The Fantastic Four's introduction. It's crucial to remember that leaks, while often accurate, remain unconfirmed until official announcements. Despite this, the abundance of upcoming content keeps the Marvel Rivals community enthusiastic about the game's future.
