Indie developer Sander Frenken has exciting news for strategy game enthusiasts: his latest project, Battledom, has entered Alpha testing. This upcoming RTS-lite game is a spiritual successor to Frenken's 2020 hit, Herodom. As a part-time developer, Frenken has dedicated approximately two years to crafting Battledom, which he says closely aligns with his original vision for Herodom.

Battledom brings classic RTS battle mechanics to life, allowing players to maneuver units freely across the map. Engage in strategic warfare by targeting enemies and launching devastating attacks with siege weapons. The game adds depth with various unit formations, enhancing the strategic gameplay element.

In Battledom, players will use coins to recruit new units into their army. Initially, these units come equipped with only basic weapons and no armor. However, players can enhance their units by customizing them with a range of weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment impacts unit stats such as range, accuracy, defense points, and attack power, allowing for tailored strategies.

Instead, they must gather resources like wood, leather, and coal within their village and craft items at specialized stations such as the blacksmith or magician. This crafting system adds a layer of resource management and village development to the gameplay.

Sander Frenken is well-known for Herodom, which has earned a stellar 4.6 rating on the App Store. Herodom offers over 55 heroes to collect and more than 150 units and siege weapons, challenging players to engage in historically inspired battles. As players progress, they unlock new hairstyles, bodies, crops, and animals for their farm, adding a personal touch to their gaming experience.

Interested players can join the Battledom Alpha by downloading TestFlight on their iOS devices. To stay updated on this promising RTS-lite game and all the latest developments, follow Sander Frenken on X or Reddit. Additionally, fans can explore Frenken's other games by visiting the App Store.
