Larian Studios announced on Steam that a stress test for Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 8 is planned for January. This test will be available on PC via Steam, and on Xbox and PlayStation consoles. Mac and GOG users will not have access. Registration is currently open.
Larian intends to thoroughly test Patch 8 for bugs and gameplay issues before its official release. They're particularly interested in player feedback on crossplay functionality, stating that implementing crossplay in a game of Baldur's Gate 3's scale was a significant undertaking. Players are encouraged to register and test crossplay, either with friends or by joining groups on the Larian Studios Discord server.
While Patch 8 marks the final major update for Baldur's Gate 3, Larian confirmed continued support for modders, promising substantial future updates to enhance modding tools. Since the release of official mod tools in September, players have downloaded over 70 million modules and uploaded over 3,000 mods.
