The highly anticipated Amazon TV series adaptation of the iconic video game *God of War* has already secured a commitment for two seasons, as revealed by showrunner Ronald D. Moore. Moore, who stepped in after the exit of former showrunner Rafe Judkins and executive producers Hawk Ostby and Mark Fergus, shared insights into his new venture in a conversation with Katee Sackhoff, known for her role in *Battlestar Galactica*.
"Right now, I'm working on an adaptation of, there's a video game called *God of War*, a big title in the gaming world that Amazon has ordered two seasons of and they've asked me to come in," Moore stated. "So I'm literally in the writer's room, and working on that. That's my new thing."

Despite not being a seasoned gamer, Moore expressed his familiarity with classic arcade games like *Defender*, *Asteroids*, and *Centipede*. He humorously recounted his struggles with modern game controllers, saying, "'Press R1.' Which one's R1? Oh, I'm dead."
For the *God of War* series, Moore has taken on multiple roles, including writer, executive producer, and showrunner. His previous work includes notable contributions to *Star Trek: The Next Generation* and *Deep Space Nine*, as well as serving as the showrunner for the critically acclaimed 2000s reboot of *Battlestar Galactica*.
While some members of the original team have departed, Sony's Cory Barlog remains involved as an executive producer. Although details about the series are still sparse, it is confirmed that the show will be based on the 2018 installment of *God of War*.
Amazon's swift renewals of other video game adaptations, such as the *Fallout* TV show and *Secret Level*, following their successful launches, suggest a promising future for the *God of War* series on the streaming platform.
