Valve has returned from their New Year holidays, and game developers are rolling out new patches across various titles. After the announcement that Deadlock would shift away from its bi-weekly update cycle, we were expecting a patch with a comprehensive changelog. However, Valve opted for a lighter start to the year.

The latest patch focused solely on one hero: Yamato. The hero received a slight nerf, with a reduction in damage scaling and a lower attack speed bonus at the first level of Shadow Transformation. Additionally, abilities like Frenzy, Berserker, and Restorative Shot were weakened, while Alchemical Fire saw a minor rework.

Given the modest size of this update, it's likely that we'll have to wait for a more substantial patch. Unfortunately, predicting when that might happen is nearly impossible at this stage.

It's important to mention that Deadlock has experienced a notable decline in its player base recently. This could be due to the popularity of Marvel Rivals, which has captured the attention of many players. However, for a game still in deep beta, maintaining a consistent online player count of 7,000–19,000 is quite respectable. As a reminder, Valve has not yet announced any potential release dates or details about the monetization model for Deadlock.
