How to Unlock Paradise Blade in Avowed

In Avowed, Paradisan Ladder is a crucial, rare upgrade material. This guide details five methods to acquire it:

1. Purchasing from Merilyn:

Merilyn, a merchant in South Paradise (map location shown above), sells Paradisan Ladder (five units at 150 coins each) and two deconstructible items yielding additional Paradisan Ladder: the Many-Hued Doublet and the Common Grimoire of Elements (two units each). Note that her inventory doesn't respawn.

2. Foraging:

Paradisan Ladder plants are found throughout the game world, indicated by their icon on the mini-map (red circle in image above). Be aware of similar-looking plants.

3. Side Quests:

Completing side quests often rewards crafting materials, including Paradisan Ladder. The early quest "Escape Plan," for example, provides two units.

4. Deconstructing Items:

Items upgraded with Paradisan Ladder can be deconstructed at a workbench to recover some of the material. Check merchant inventories for items listing Paradisan Ladder in their deconstruction details.

5. Downgrading Hylea's Talon:

Hylea's Talon, a higher-tier material obtained later in the game, can be downgraded at a workbench to yield three Paradisan Ladder per unit. This is useful for switching weapon types.
