A lesser-known villain, known only to the most dedicated Marvel fans, has made her way into *Marvel Snap*. Diamondback, much like many female antagonists in comics, walks the fine line between villainy and heroism. If you're looking to make the most of her unique abilities, here are some of the best deck builds to utilize her in *Marvel Snap*.

How Diamondback Works in Marvel Snap

Diamondback is a 3-cost card with 3 base power and an Ongoing ability that reads: “Enemy cards here afflicted with negative Power have an additional -2 Power.”

This creates strong synergy with several negative Power-afflicting cards already present in *Marvel Snap*, such as US Agent, Man-Thing, Scorpion, Hazmat, Cassandra Nova, Scream, and Bullseye. To get real value out of Diamondback, aim to affect at least two enemy cards in the same location—this makes her effectively a 7-power card.

Keep in mind that certain characters can neutralize her impact. Luke Cage completely nullifies her effect, while Enchantress and Rogue can remove her debuffs quickly, making her less reliable in those matchups.

Best Diamondback Decks in Marvel Snap

While Diamondback may seem situational at first glance, she actually fits well into multiple competitive archetypes—including Scream Move, Toxic Ajax, High Evolutionary, and Bullseye Discard. Among these, Toxic Ajax and High Evolutionary are likely her strongest homes, though both lists are fairly similar. Below are two solid examples using different strategies: Scream Move and Toxic Ajax.

Scream Move Deck

  • Kingpin
  • Scream
  • Sam Wilson Captain America
  • Spider-Man
  • Diamondback
  • Rocket Raccoon and Groot
  • Polaris
  • Doom 2099
  • Aero
  • Doctor Doom
  • Magneto

The Series 5 cards in this build include Scream, Sam Wilson Captain America, Rocket Raccoon and Groot, and Doom 2099. Scream and Rocket Raccoon and Groot are essential for the deck's strategy. If you don't own Sam Wilson, consider replacing him with another affliction card like Scorpion.

The core idea is to manipulate your opponent's cards across locations using Kingpin and Scream while afflicting them. Placing Diamondback in the same location as Kingpin allows you to maximize lane control by reducing enemy power by -4. Meanwhile, Scream gains strength elsewhere on the board.

The second half of the deck revolves around Doom 2099. Since you won’t be playing many cards in the final turns, Aero combined with Doctor Doom or Magneto, plus any affliction effects from pushed/pulled cards, can generate significant late-game power spikes.

Toxic Ajax Deck

  • Silver Sable
  • Hazmat
  • US Agent
  • Luke Cage
  • Rogue
  • Diamondback
  • Red Guardian
  • Rocket Raccoon and Groot
  • Malekith
  • Anti-Venom
  • Man-Thing
  • Ajax

This deck includes several Series 5 cards: Silver Sable, Hazmat, US Agent, Red Guardian, Rocket Raccoon and Groot, Malekith, Anti-Venom, and Ajax. You can substitute Silver Sable with Nebula if needed, but the rest are crucial for optimal performance. This is one of the more expensive decks in the game, but it also offers high rewards when played correctly.

The main objective is to boost Ajax’s power using your suite of affliction cards. In some cases, skipping Luke Cage can help increase Ajax’s growth. Malekith can pull key affliction cards like Hazmat and Diamondback for sudden power surges. Anti-Venom also provides a surprise boost during the final turns.

Rogue is included as a counter to the expected rise in Luke Cage usage during Diamondback’s release week. Since Luke Cage shuts down this entire archetype, having Rogue in your lineup helps maintain consistency and resilience against that matchup.

Is Diamondback Worth Spotlight Cache Keys or Collector’s Tokens?

If you already own most of the affliction-focused cards required for an Ajax-style or Scream-based deck, Diamondback is definitely worth adding to your collection. However, if you tend to avoid affliction-heavy strategies or lack essential cards like Scream and Rocket Raccoon and Groot, she may not be worth investing Spotlight Cache Keys or Collector’s Tokens on. Her usefulness is limited to specific, often expensive, deck types.

And there you have it—some of the best Diamondback decks in *Marvel Snap*. Whether you're pushing lanes with Scream or spiking massive power with Toxic Ajax, Diamondback can be a valuable addition to your lineup—if you build around her properly.
