TikTok's U.S. ban is now in effect, preventing American users from accessing the platform. Attempts to open the app result in a message stating its unavailability due to a newly enacted law. While the message expresses hope for reinstatement under a future administration, no concrete timeline exists.

The Supreme Court's unanimous rejection of TikTok's final appeal underscored national security concerns surrounding data collection and its ties to a foreign entity, despite acknowledging the app's popularity and role in user expression. The court's ruling cited Congress's determination that divestiture is necessary to address these concerns, emphasizing that the ban doesn't violate First Amendment rights.

Although TikTok anticipates a potential reversal under the incoming Trump administration, confirmation remains pending. While President-elect Trump hinted at a possible 90-day delay to allow for a U.S. or allied acquisition, this hasn't materialized, leading to the immediate ban. Concurrently, other apps linked to ByteDance, TikTok's parent company, including CapCut, Lemon8, and Marvel Snap, have also become inaccessible in the U.S.
