It's Friday, and Sybo Games has a surprise for us: a new Subway Surfers game! The developer has quietly released Subway Surfers City in a soft launch for iOS and Android. While we haven't played it yet, here's what we know from the app stores.

Subway Surfers City appears to be a sequel to the original, building upon years of updates and additions. The original game, while iconic, is showing its age. This sequel boasts many of the features added to the original over the years, including multiple characters, hoverboards, and significantly improved graphics.

Currently, Subway Surfers City's soft launch is limited. On iOS, it's available in the UK, Canada, Denmark, Indonesia, Netherlands, and the Philippines. Android users in Denmark and the Philippines can also get in on the action.

A New City, A New Beginning?

Sybo's decision to create a sequel to its most successful game is a bold move. The original game's Unity engine is showing its limitations, hindering further development. The stealth launch is an intriguing strategy, especially for a globally popular mobile franchise.

We're eager to see the player response to Subway Surfers City and its eventual worldwide release. We hope it lives up to the high expectations.
