1. Verify Game Files:
This is the first step. Ensure Steam isn't in offline mode. Navigate to your Steam Library, right-click Ready or Not, select Properties, then Installed Files, and finally Verify Integrity of Game Files. Steam will identify and redownload any corrupted or missing files. Retry launching the game; if successful, the issue is resolved.
2. Disable Mods:
Outdated or incompatible mods, especially those not updated for Unreal Engine 5 (post-July 2024), frequently trigger this error. To remove mods:
mod.io
folder. This will allow the game to run without mods.
3. Reinstall Mods (One by One):
Reinstall mods individually to pinpoint the culprit. Check each mod's update date on Nexus Mods, Mod.io, or your source. Only install mods updated after July 2024 (UE5 implementation). Install one, test the game, and repeat. If the error returns, the last installed mod is the problem and should be avoided. Mods not updated for UE5 are incompatible.
4. Reinstall Ready or Not:
As a last resort, completely uninstall and reinstall Ready or Not. While less common, hard drive corruption could also be a factor. However, outdated mods are the most frequent cause of this error.
Ready or Not is available now on PC.
