How to Start Thrown to the Dogs in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

If you pre-ordered Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you’ll have the opportunity to embark on a quest called Thrown to the Dogs. This quest becomes available as soon as you gain control of Naoe and access the open world for the first time.

To start, follow the quest marker on your map to locate a dog, and then follow it to a nearby farm. Your task is to find a key hidden beneath a house. Once you’ve secured the key, return to the grave site where you first encountered the dog. After completing these steps, you’ll befriend the dog and mark the quest as completed.

If you're struggling to find the key, look for a small crawlspace at the base of the house. Naoe can go prone and crawl through it to retrieve the key. This can be easily overlooked, so keep an eye out for it.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Preorder Bonuses

Upon completing Thrown to the Dogs, you’ll receive your pre-order bonuses, which include:

• Tsuki-maru as a pet at the Hideout
• 1,000 XP

While these bonuses might seem modest, they offer valuable benefits. Tsuki-maru adds a charming touch to your Hideout, and the 1,000 XP boost is significant in the early stages of the game. This extra XP can earn you several Mastery Points, allowing you to experiment with new skills, although you’ll need to rank up your Knowledge to unlock more advanced abilities.
