The 2025 PUBG Mobile Global Open (PMGO) has kicked off, marking the first major international PUBG Mobile esports event of the year. With over 90,000 competitors vying for a share of the $500,000 prize pool, the Open Qualifiers, which began February 13th, offer a crucial pathway for aspiring talent to break into the professional scene.
This year's tournament prioritizes fresh talent by being open exclusively to amateur teams. Teams featuring at least one Ultimate 500-ranked player from Cycle 7 Season 20 or 21 have already advanced to Round 2 of the Open Qualifiers. Over the coming weeks, emerging squads will clash for a coveted spot in the PMGO Prelims, where they'll face off against the top teams from the Uzbekistan Offline Qualifiers.
Twelve teams will ultimately earn the right to challenge PUBG Mobile's elite professionals in the PMGO Main Event. Four professional teams—Regnum Carya, Nigma Galaxy, 4Merical Vibes, and Influence Rage—have already secured their Main Event berths based on their impressive PMGC 2024 performances. Four additional teams will qualify through regional competitions, including the PMSL SEA Spring, PMGO Korea Qualifier, and the Peacekeeper Elite League Spring season.
The Open Qualifiers run until March 2nd, followed by the Prelims on April 10th-11th, culminating in the Main Event on April 12th-13th. This tournament marks the beginning of a thrilling year for PUBG Mobile Esports, with the PUBG Mobile World Cup and PMGC returning later in 2025.
