The launch of Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket was met with excitement, but it quickly encountered a significant challenge with its trading system. Initially, the trading feature was met with frustration due to the cumbersome Trading Tokens and restrictive trading rules. However, a new update aims to rectify these issues and enhance the trading experience for players.

In a significant overhaul, Trading Tokens are being completely phased out. Players will no longer need to trade cards to accumulate currency for trading. Instead, the new system introduces Shinedust, which you'll earn by opening booster packs and receiving cards that are already registered in your Card Dex. This Shinedust will be essential for trading cards of three-diamond, four-diamond, and one-star rarity.

If you have existing Trading Tokens, don't worry—they can be converted into Shinedust. Given that Shinedust is also required for obtaining flair, the developers are planning further modifications to this system. Additionally, an upcoming update will introduce a feature allowing you to share cards you're interested in trading directly within the game.

Trading spacesAs I've noted previously, the initial implementation of trading seemed half-hearted. The challenge lies in balancing the need for restrictions to prevent abuse in a digital environment, which differs significantly from physical trading. While these changes are a step in the right direction, they are scheduled to roll out by autumn, leaving players waiting through the spring and summer.

Although the team behind Pokémon TCG Pocket is addressing these issues, the pace of these changes may not satisfy everyone.
