Pokemon GO's Fashion Week: Taken Over event introduces a highly anticipated feature: remote raid pass compatibility with Shadow Raids. This limited-time opportunity, running from January 15th, 12:00 a.m. to January 19th, 8:00 p.m. local time, allows players to participate in one-star, three-star, and five-star Shadow Raids remotely or in person.
This event presents a unique chance to catch Pokémon with superior IV stats from Shadow Raids. The convenience extends to the Shadow Ho-Oh Raid Day on January 19th (2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time), where remote participation is also enabled, boosting the odds of encountering a Shiny Shadow Ho-Oh and offering the chance to teach it Sacred Fire. Furthermore, players can utilize Charged TMs to remove the Frustration move from Shadow Pokémon.
While this marks the first and, for now, only instance of remote raid pass usage in Shadow Raids, the community's enthusiastic response is expected. The feature's temporary nature has sparked speculation regarding its future implementation, especially given past criticism of in-person-only requirements for challenging raids. Whether this trial run leads to permanent integration remains uncertain.
