Hazelight Studios, known for its fantastic couch co-op games, has released its latest title, Split Fiction. A key question on many players' minds is whether this game can be enjoyed solo. The answer, unfortunately, is no.
Like previous Hazelight Studios games, Split Fiction heavily emphasizes cooperative gameplay, both online and via couch co-op. There's no single-player mode, no AI companion to assist, and the intricate timing and coordination required make solo play practically impossible even with multiple controllers.
However, Hazelight provides a solution with the Friend's Pass, allowing for both local and online cross-platform co-op. If you own Split Fiction, a friend can download the Friend's Pass on their platform (PlayStation, Xbox, or PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, or the EA app) and join your game. This works across all platforms, making it easy to play with friends regardless of their gaming setup. Even using the EA Friends list is an option for sending invites.
This generous Friend's Pass system is a great way for players to experience Split Fiction's co-op gameplay before purchasing the full game.
Split Fiction launches March 6th on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
