Sega has joined the account system trend with its new Sega Account service, promising a wealth of benefits. As the official website states, it's designed to "maximize SEGA's online services and offers a ton of benefits."

Key features include access to the latest news, upcoming events, and promotions for Sega and Atlus games. Account holders also receive exclusive bonuses and the ability to link accounts across various platforms for seamless game tracking. Future updates will even include game history tracking.

To celebrate the launch, players creating a Sega Account and linking a compatible Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth platform account (Steam, PlayStation Network, or Xbox) before March 7th will receive a code for the free Kazuma Kiryu Special Outfit DLC. This DLC features protagonist Goro Majima in Kiryu's iconic suit. Codes will be distributed to eligible players starting February 17th, redeemable in-game from February 28th.

Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis (NGS) players also benefit, receiving 300 Star Gems, 100x C/Endymio, 500x Card Scratch Tickets, 3 Beauty Salon Passes, 3 Color Change Passes, and a special Sega logo lobby action upon linking their Sega Accounts.

Many believe this launch is connected to Sega's ambitious "Super Game" project, announced in 2022. Sega CEO Haruki Satomi stated the goal of creating "a large-scale global title," targeting release by March 2026.

While details remain scarce, Sega's active development across various titles—from classics like Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio to new projects including the mysterious Yakuza-like Project Century—suggests significant progress. The introduction of the Sega Account platform could mark a new era for Sega, with the full implications of these plans yet to unfold.
