Atlus producer Kazushi Wada reiterates the unlikelihood of Persona 3 Portable's female protagonist (FeMC), Kotone Shiomi/Minako Arisato, appearing in Persona 3 Reload. This decision, stemming from budget and development constraints, remains firm despite fan requests.
Wada, in a recent PC Gamer interview, clarified that while initially considered, incorporating the FeMC proved too costly and time-consuming, even as post-launch DLC. The scope of such an addition, exceeding the resources dedicated to the Episode Aigis DLC, rendered it infeasible within the game's release timeframe.
The February 2024 release of Persona 3 Reload, a remake of the 2006 classic, notably omits the FeMC, disappointing many fans. Wada's statement leaves little hope for future inclusion: "The more we discussed it, the more unlikely it became...The development time and costs would not have been manageable." He previously echoed this sentiment in a Famitsu interview, stating the undertaking would be "several times longer than Episode Aigis."
Despite the FeMC's popularity in Persona 3 Portable, Wada's definitive comments effectively rule out her appearance in Persona 3 Reload, both at launch and as future content.
