A Mortal Kombat 1 dataminer has uncovered strong evidence suggesting the addition of Hara-Kiri Fatalities, rebranded as Quitalities, in a future update.

Redditor InfiniteNightZ shared a video showcasing what appear to be Hara-Kiri animations within the game's files. Hara-Kiri finishers, initially seen in Mortal Kombat: Deception (2004), allow defeated players to perform a self-inflicted fatality. The video, linked below, notably includes animations for recently released DLC characters like Ghostface, bolstering the theory of their inclusion. InfiniteNightZ stated, "After seeing that they're adding it to the downloaded roster now, I think it's highly possible."

Further supporting this, InfiniteNightZ noted the animations are referenced in the game's code as "Quitalities"—quick finishers triggered by player quits in multiplayer matches, a feature present in previous Mortal Kombat titles. "They are listed as Quitalities, there's still hope," InfiniteNightZ commented.

Independent verification came from prominent Mortal Kombat 1 dataminer Interloko, who discovered additional Hara-Kiri animations following InfiniteNightZ's discovery. Interloko's tweet (below) indicates only Omniman and Conan may be missing these animations.

Thanks @MatthewDim40523 for tag me
Here are another 2 missing from the video, so looks like only Omniman and Conan doesn't have one.

I didn't try to trigger it in the game because I'm bussy finishing some stuff of the demo of my own game https://t.co/TqBKyauY0G pic.twitter.com/hL4QzLRXwf

While exciting, it's crucial to remember that NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Games haven't officially confirmed Quitalities for Mortal Kombat 1.

The game recently saw renewed interest with the addition of a secret Floyd (pink ninja) fight and ongoing community efforts to determine its unlock requirements. Meanwhile, fans eagerly anticipate the arrival of the T-1000 guest character and the possibility of further DLC, though no official announcements have been made.
