Announced at New York Comic Con's Marvel Games showcase, the PC version of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 promises a fully optimized experience. Developed by Nixxes Software in close collaboration with Insomniac Games, PlayStation, and Marvel Games, the port will boast ray tracing, ultrawide monitor support, and extensive graphical customization options. Nixxes, known for their PlayStation-to-PC ports (Horizon, Ghost of Tsushima), ensures a smooth transition to the platform.

"Collaborating with Insomniac and Marvel Games to bring the Spider-Man games to PC has been fantastic," stated Nixxes' Community Manager, Julian Huijbregts. Insomniac's Mike Fitzgerald added that the PC version will offer a tailored experience for PC gamers. While features like DualSense adaptive triggers and haptic feedback won't be replicated, keyboard and mouse support and ultrawide monitor compatibility are key features.

The PC release includes all post-launch content from the PS5 version, featuring twelve new suits (including Symbiote Suit variations), New Game+, "Ultimate Levels," enhanced Photo Mode, new time-of-day options, and post-game achievements. The Digital Deluxe Edition will offer even more extras. However, no new story content will be added.

PSN Account Requirement: A Point of Contention

A significant concern is the requirement of a PlayStation Network (PSN) account, a trend emerging in recent PlayStation PC ports. This excludes players in regions lacking PSN access, raising accessibility issues. While Sony previously reversed a similar PSN requirement for Helldivers 2, the impact remains a point of debate for players.
