Netflix Unveils Devil May Cry Anime Opening Trailer, Hints at Multi-Season Arc

Following the announcement of the Devil May Cry anime's premiere date, Netflix dropped the series' electrifying opening trailer. Set to Limp Bizkit's iconic "Rollin'," the trailer showcases dynamic action sequences featuring a young Dante, Lady, and the enigmatic White Rabbit, peppered with nods to the game franchise.

Showrunner Adi Shankar elaborated on his vision for the anime's future. He explained that the series, set in the late 90s and early 2000s, will leverage a soundtrack reflecting that era's distinctive musical landscape. Beyond Limp Bizkit, expect other period-appropriate tracks, along with a synthwave reimagining of the game's soundtrack by Power Glove.

Shankar further hinted at a multi-season plan, stating that future seasons will adopt unique visual styles and soundtracks to highlight the diverse nature of the Devil May Cry games.

While plot specifics remain under wraps, the first season is anticipated to adapt elements from the Code 1: Dante manga (based on Devil May Cry 3), focusing on a young Dante's investigation into a child's disappearance. This investigation will reportedly force him to confront his past, family ties, and the legacy of his demonic father, Sparda.

The eight-episode first season is slated to debut on April 3, 2025.
