LEGO enthusiasts and Jurassic World fans alike are in for a treat with the announcement of the biggest Jurassic World set to date: a colossal T-rex skeleton that stretches over three feet in length. This impressive set not only includes the skeleton but also comes with minifigures of Dr. Ellie Sattler and Dr. Alan Grant, beloved characters from the original Jurassic Park movie where the skeleton famously appeared in the visitor center. Priced at $249.99, this set will be available for purchase at the LEGO Store starting March 12 for LEGO Insiders (sign up for free here) and March 15 for the general public.

Out March 15

LEGO Jurassic World Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus rex

**Release Date**: March 15 (March 12 for Insiders)
**Price**: $249.99
**Pieces**: 3,145
**Ages**: 18+
**Dimensions**: L: 105cm (41.3in) / H: 33cm (12.9in)

This set, comprising 3,145 pieces, is tailored for an adult audience aged 18 and above, making it more of a display piece than a play set. It may incorporate advanced building techniques, which could pose a challenge for younger builders.

The scale of this set is truly awe-inspiring, and while pictures can only do so much, the included minifigures of Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler provide a helpful sense of proportion. The skeleton's skull closely resembles the LEGO T-rex skull set currently available (which my son assembled, and it turned out fantastic), but the full skeleton significantly enhances the overall impact of this new set.

The T-rex skeleton features articulated joints, allowing for various posing options. The head can move, the jaw can open, and the arms and tail can be adjusted to your liking. As with many LEGO sets inspired by movies, this one includes hidden Easter eggs to discover during the building process. Additionally, it comes with a display stand and an informational plaque detailing the T-rex's diet, habitat, and more.

While the LEGO Jurassic World collection may not be as extensive as the LEGO Star Wars or LEGO Harry Potter lines, it is rapidly expanding. Personally, I'm excited to see more adult-oriented sets like this T-rex skeleton added to the lineup in the future.
