Jack Quaid, known for his role in the hit series "The Boys," has expressed his enthusiasm for appearing in a potential BioShock movie. In a Reddit AMA promoting his new film "Novocaine," Quaid shared that BioShock ranks among his all-time favorite games due to its "rich lore," which he believes could be brilliantly adapted into a TV or movie format. "I would actually love to be in a live action adaptation of BioShock - one of my favorite games of all time," he stated, highlighting the game's potential for storytelling in a new medium.
The likelihood of a BioShock movie coming to fruition remains uncertain. Last July, producer Roy Lee mentioned that the project had undergone significant changes due to shifts in leadership, resulting in a "reconfigured" and "more personal" film. These adjustments were influenced by budget cuts from Netflix, though specific plot details remain under wraps. Francis Lawrence, known for directing "The Hunger Games," is still set to helm the project. Lee noted, "The new regime has lowered the budgets... So we’re doing a much smaller version. It’s going to be a more personal point of view, as opposed to a grander, big project."
In the same Reddit session, Quaid acknowledged the striking resemblance between himself and Max Payne, whose likeness is inspired by Remedy writer Sam Lake. Fans have even speculated that Quaid's new action movie "Novocaine" could be mistaken for a Max Payne film due to the visual similarities. However, Quaid admitted he has not played Max Payne, though he plans to do so, saying, "I've seen people say that I look like Max Payne, and when I've looked at the box art, even I did a double-take... I love Rockstar's games, but unfortunately I've never played that one - it's next on the list, for sure."
Beyond BioShock, Quaid revealed his passion for FromSoftware's challenging games, such as Bloodborne and Elden Ring. He described himself as a "huge video game nerd" and shared his journey through FromSoftware's library, stating, "I beat Bloodborne, then I beat Sekiro, and now I'm going full boar into Elden Ring. Actually, the thing I use Reddit the most for is tips and tricks on beating Fromsoft's bosses. I love how challenging the games are - it took me a while to get into them, but now I'm obsessed."
