Harrison Ford remains unfazed by the critical and commercial failure of "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny," succinctly stating that "shit happens." Despite the fifth installment in the beloved franchise being panned by critics and reportedly losing $100 million at the box office, Ford stands by his decision to return to the iconic role of Indiana Jones. He expressed his desire to explore another chapter in Indy's life, saying, "When [Indy] had suffered the consequences of the life that he had to live, I wanted one more chance to pick him up and shake the dust off his ass and stick him out there, bereft of some of his vigor, to see what happened." Ford remains content with his choice, asserting, "I’m still happy I made that movie."
Undeterred by the setback, Ford has now joined another storied franchise, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, for the upcoming film "Captain America: Brave New World." He steps into the shoes of the late William Hurt, taking on the role of Thaddeus Ross, who will transform into the formidable Red Hulk in this new adventure. Ford revealed that he signed on to the project without knowing about this transformation, as he hadn't seen the script at the time. His decision was driven by the allure of having a good time, as he explained, "Why not? I saw enough Marvels to see actors that I admired having a good time. I didn’t really know that at the end I would turn into the Red Hulk. Well, it’s like life. You only get so far in the kit until the last page of the instructions is missing."
"Captain America: Brave New World" is set to be one of the shortest entries in the MCU and marks a significant shift with Anthony Mackie taking over the titular role from Chris Evans' Steve Rogers. The film is slated for release on February 14 and will delve into deeper corners of Marvel lore, including the long-awaited introduction of The Leader, a character teased in the second MCU film, "The Incredible Hulk."
