In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, the side quest "Canker" becomes accessible early in the game, contingent upon completing "The Jaunt." This quest is a great opportunity to acquire a mace or some extra Groschen, so let's dive into how you can successfully navigate through it.

To embark on the "Canker" quest, you'll need to have a conversation with Gules at Semine. A convenient moment to initiate this quest is during the wedding celebration of Lord Semine and Agnes. You can catch Gules enjoying a drink before the ceremony and start the quest then. Alternatively, you can find Gules while he's on patrol at Semine and talk to him about his past association with bandits. Offering to help him eliminate these former associates will set you on the path to confronting Canker, the first target on your list.

Find and Kill Canker

Once you've accepted the quest, Canker's whereabouts will be marked on your map, situated north of Nebakov Mill. Be prepared for potential ambushes by other bandits along the way. You have the option to sneak past them, engage in combat, or simply outrun them. While these random bandits are generally not difficult to defeat, it's wise to conserve your health for the upcoming battle.

The bandit camp where Canker resides is nestled in the mountains, and it can be challenging to locate as you need to navigate through a narrow passage to reach it, similar to the path leading to the Hermit's house during the "Wedding Crashers" quest. Make sure you're ready for a fight before entering, as you'll encounter several bandits, including Canker himself.

During the confrontation, some bandits might flee depending on the sequence in which you take them down. However, it's essential to eliminate most of them, so don't assume you can avoid combat with all of them. Fortunately, Canker won't attempt to escape, ensuring you can fulfill the quest requirement by killing him.

Finish the Quest and Return to Gules

After defeating Canker and his accomplices, loot Canker's body to collect the Light Mace, which serves as proof of your success. Feel free to take any other items you find on him as well. Once you have the mace, head back to Gules to complete the quest.

Following the completion of "Canker" in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, you'll need to wait a full in-game day before you can start the next quest related to Gules' former bandit comrades. After the day has passed, speak with Gules to pick up "Handsome Charlie."
