Sony and Santa Monica Studio are thrilled to announce the Dark Odyssey collection, a free update for God of War Ragnarök arriving next week. This update features in-game equipment themed after one of the franchise's most iconic outfits.
Detailed in a recent PlayStation Blog post, the Dark Odyssey collection is a major highlight of Sony's God of War 20th-anniversary celebrations. Available for free on PlayStation 5 and PC starting March 20th, it offers a stunning array of cosmetic items for all God of War Ragnarök owners.
The entire collection boasts a sleek black-and-gold aesthetic, giving Kratos, Atreus, and Freya a stylish new look as they continue their adventures through Norse mythology. The update includes cosmetic sets for all three characters, as well as numerous shields and weapons.
The star of the show is undoubtedly Kratos's Dark Odyssey appearance and armor set, a recreation of a skin previously only obtainable by completing God of War II on God Mode. Players can acquire these items from any Lost Items chest in the main game or directly in Ragnarök's Valhalla mode after the update. This update also introduces the highly anticipated ability to customize Kratos' weapon appearances without affecting their stats.
